The long-awaited return of the Assassin's Creed franchise is finally here with *Assassin’s Creed: Legacy*, an epic new chapter set in Feudal Japan. Ubisoft has officially unveiled the title’s setting, which includes an open-world recreation of historical cities like Kyoto and Edo, immersive stealth systems, and an all-new protagonist trained in both ninjutsu and traditional samurai techniques.

Players will experience a dynamic world shaped by seasonal cycles, shifting political alliances, and evolving enemy tactics. The game introduces new vertical traversal mechanics using rooftops, trees, and temple structures. Legacy will also feature a reactive notoriety system, where player actions affect enemy behavior, mission availability, and even NPC dialogue. Weapon customization and skill branching allow players to mold their character into a stealthy shadow or a powerful warrior.
“For years fans have requested a Japan-based Assassin's Creed — Legacy delivers that vision with rich cultural detail, tactical depth, and breathtaking visuals.” — GameWire Weekly
In addition to the main story campaign, Legacy includes a separate co-op narrative mode and open PvE encounters across contested regions. The world is powered by a revamped version of the Anvil engine, optimized for new-gen hardware with ray tracing, dynamic weather, and seamless fast travel between provinces.
